Welcome!

My interest and passion in photography is guided by my need to express myself and capture the beauty of the natural world.
I grew up in Southern California, yes I admit it, in the 50s and 60s. My parents, not only enjoyed but had an abiding respect for the natural world. They provided me an early exposure to the beauty of the surrounding areas and also the wide panoramas of more exotic places such as Mexico, Canada, and the Desert Southwest. Rather than glitzy tourist traps, my folks sought the solitude of the wilder and more peaceful places. They were avid photographers who memorialized these trips on film.
My life took me north to the Willamette Valley of Oregon where I have lived for over 50 years. My wife and I raised our children here carrying on my family’s tradition of seeking out the wild and scenic areas for our family vacations. We have attempted to pass on the appreciation of a quiet commune with Nature. Those early influences made a deep impression on me; panoramic landscape shots remain my favorite.
My passion is to capture the beauty that I find in this world and create a piece that truly moves the viewer. An ideal photo would draw forth the profound sense of awe that I felt as a child when I first discovered the grandeur that exists.
